They say that one of the great cruelties to finding a job is that employers are always asking for experience but you can't get experience until you get a job. This is something that those looking for their first job know more than a little bit about. If you're currently trying to create your resume to apply to work in CAD outsourcing or to hopefully get your first job after school as a store clerk then you might be looking at a blank page wondering what you could put on it. And you might be surprised to hear that there is a good chance you already have at least a little relevant experience.

When you're creating your first resume and entering the job market you're using not applying for jobs with as much responsibility as working in an office or in a factory with brick industry packaging machines. You will be doing something relatively simple that requires only a few different skills. So, you should start by making a list of what those skills might be. If you want to work in customer service then your boss is going to want to know that you're good with people and can handle working with cash. If you're planning to be a dishwasher, on the other hand, then they might want to know that you have done something before that requires physical labor.

Don't think that because you've never been paid to work before that you don't have any job experience. Some people have experience that could translate to working reception for a mortgage broker Calgary thanks to volunteer work that they have done over the years. Or, you might have been someone who loved to be involved in different clubs and organizations while you were in school. Think of the different experience and skills that you got from being involved and working with others and try to apply these things to your resume. If you've worked with your mom on accounts as a Toronto caterer or took over your brother's paper route while he was away at camp, this could all be useful on your resume.

Your resume is all about showing all of the different skills and experience you have that would translate to you being perfect for the job that you're applying for. A good place to look to see what you're good at is in your schoolwork. While you might not have done a course to be a Toronto real estate agent or even have finished high school yet, there should be some things that you can highlight when it comes to your education background.
